G! Festival

G! Festival is the direct result of efforts to improve the circumstances for music and musicians on the Faroe Islands. Since the first official festival in 2002, the event has grown and now usually receives more than 6,000 visitors each year. The festival occurs in the middle of July and lasts for three days.

Since its beginning, G! Festival has had the attention of international audiences, having been covered by the BBC and newspapers such as the Guardian and the New York Times, as well as several other important media organisations.

The festival prides itself on presenting a fantastic blend of the best of the Faroes: the best Faroese music, performed outdoors in Faroese nature, shaken together with exciting international acts.
